An Emotional (amygdala) hijack happens when any strong emotion such as anger, anxiety, fear, or intense excitement weakens the neocortex/prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain in the frontal lobe that regulates rational thought. This presentation discusses the impact of emotional hijack and how a person may identify, assess and regulate and to subsequently control the emotions. ~John K. Amoah, PhD~
