Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer,[a] saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” 1 Samuel 7:12
our Ebenezer moments are times when you know without a doubt that God has intervened in your life. You realize that only God could have allowed the outcomes you have experienced. His help has brought you through. A stone is a hard material. It can be used to build things and start fires. The Lord is like a stone.
In the midst of our own “wars” — perhaps health issues, financial struggles, broken relationships, major disappointments, or the like — we would do well to take stock of the Lord’s blessings in our lives over the years, to see how far the Lord has helped us and brought us in so many different ways. In doing so, we can find great encouragement and optimism
